Initially in 1984 in response to a NASA call for housing designs for future human settlements on the Moon and on Mars, he proposed to use moon dust to fill the plastic Superadobe tubes and velcro together the layers (instead of barbed wire). He came to term his particular technique of earthbag construction called as "Superadobe".
"Hyperadobe", that we are using in this project, was developed by the Brazilian engineer Fernando Pachecho, from the creation of superadobe. The technique follows the same execution procedures, with the polypropylene bags and barbed wire of the superadobe technique being changed by Raschel bags, the same used in fruit and vegetable packaging.
The whole intuitive design process involves logistics and planing of materials, organization, knowledge and trust of our courageous and creative construction team.
This project was designed and built intuitively, together with the talented local constructors, defining the radius dimension, the elevation and the overlapping factor.
