The 2014 edition of São Paulo Fashion Week (SPFW) sought to highlight the visual relationship between body, space and movement. Thus, we found inspiration in the experimental play Triadisches Ballett, developed in 1923 by costume designer and choreographer Oskar Schlemmer, in Bauhaus in Weimar.
By mapping the stage movements of Schlemmer’s figures/costumes onto the ground floor of the SPFW event, we defined location points (lounges and interaction areas) and vector lines (movements and distribution paths). The tension (number of movements) between ground floor points was translated into parameters that defined a surface of elastic strips in the space and a visual interaction with the public. With a single and continuous gesture, the sensory installation creates a chromatic and volumetric intervention that assumes and transforms a standard tent structure in a unique sensual experience.
