“Forest bathing” is the experience of immersion in the forest, considered according to recent studies as the most important opportunity for connection between humans, with themselves and their own values.
The first major Universal Exhibition, held in 1951 in London, inaugurated an unprecedented concept: a pavilion that covered the entire Hyde Park, introducing urban space into an architecture. Not just any urban space, but a park: lush trees and aquatic plants were seamlessly integrated into prefabricated pavilion exhibiting the most advanced technology and innovation products of the time.
The architecture of thousands of square meters, built in just four months, was made possible thanks to the ingenuity of a botanist, the greatest connoisseur of the Vitória Régias of the time, Joseph Paxton. The prefabricated modular architecture, inspired by the stem structures of the botanical's favorite plant and finally a space that made history in the modern collective mind.
The Docol 2020 pavilion “Natureza Urbana” integrates the modular construction system and thematic areas composed by Brazilian biomes. Each area, characterized by its local epecimes, specific materials inspired by the respective biomes highlights the exhibition of products, guiding the public in an multisensory experience of aromas, temperatures, colors and microclimates.
