The main objective of the workshop is to propose a new process of design and creation of architecture through the meeting of ancestral craftsmanship and contemporary design. Apply this work methodology to the development of a specific project; new proposals for emergency and intuitive architectures. How? Everyone knows how to knit! Well, we weave architecture instead of building architecture.
A theoretical and practical workshop in which systems and techniques for structuring a physical and virtual-communicative space are constantly sought. Craft processes and basketry manuals, design, knots, amares, prints, weavings, among others, will be the basis of the manual praxis the workshop as the interpretation, synthesis and composition will use computer programs such as Photoshop, Freehand, 3D Studio. Learning to weave wicker, knots, structures, a geodetic structure, a Tensegrty structure, understand the basic materials and their mechanical characteristics. They will follow practical examples on nomadic structures and architectures and a detailed study on bamboo; resources and uses.
The students are invited to follow the learning in the BAMBOOLAB workshop that happens in Palma de Mallorca the following month.
In the BAMBOOLAB workshop, all the structures designed in Marko Brajovic's studio are produced in an original scale, seven days of intensive work after day 01.
